Life has a way of bending, twisting, and even breaking things throughout time, shaping them into what they are today. Therefore, in order to fully understand a person, a place, or even an event in time, one must learn of the under lying chain of events that transpired and formed it into what it is today. America is no different.
For years there has been an ongoing debate over the place of God and religion in our nation. There are also many who do not like the Constitution and would like to do away with it and our country as we know it, usually many of whom also believe that God and religion have no place here. Ironically, those that want to take down the Constitution have learned they must take down religion first. If that doesn't prove that religion played part in the Constitution and the founding of America, I don't know what does. God's part in the building of America is clear, from the time of Columbus through the Constitution. James Madison, "The Father of the Constitution" and "The Father of the Bill of Rights" was a very religious man, as were the majority of The Founding Fathers. It is a fact that a man's work is a reflection of his beliefs. These men believed strongly in God and part of that belief is that men are free to choose for themselves. They made sure that people were free to choose their religion, even if it is none at all.
For me it is clear, there is no debate, America truly is "The Promised Land", set apart and bestowed upon us by God himself.
Here at InspiredTruths.com you will discover the building blocks of America, how America came to be, and why God and America are inseparably connected.
